Ruth's Love to Her Mother-in-law
"Don't ask me to leave you! Let me go with you.Wherever you go,I will go; wherever you live,I will live.Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God. Wherever you die,I will die, and that is where I will be buried.May the Lord's worst punishment come upon me if I let anything but death separate me from you!"

The Song of Praise.
“Listen, you kings!
Pay attention, you rulers!
I will sing, I will play music to Israel’s God, the
Lord.
Lord, when you left the mountains of Seir,
When you came out of the region of Edom,
The earth shook, and rain fell from the sky.
Yes, water poured down from the clouds.
The mountains quaked before the Lord of Sinai,
Before the Lord, the God of Israel.”

5:3-5

God Commands
“I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will always
be with you; I will never abandon you. Be determined and confident, for you
will be the leader of these people as they occupy this land which I promised
their ancestors. Just be determined and confident. Don’t be afraid or discouraged,
for I, The Lord, your God, am with you wherever you go.”

The Lord’s Own People
“Today the Lord your God commands you to obey all
his laws; so obey them faithfully with all your heart. Today you have
acknowledged the Lord as your God; you have promised to obey him, to keep all
his laws, and to do all that he commands. Today the lord has accepted you as
his own people, as he promised you; and he commands you to obey all his laws.
He will make you greater than any other nation that he has created, and you
will bring praise and honour to his name. You will be his own people as he
promised.”

Blessings for Obedience
“If you live according to my laws and obey my commands,
I will send you rain at the right time, so that the land will produce crops and
the trees will bear fruit. Your crops will be so plentiful that you will still
be harvesting corn when it is time to pick grapes, and you will still be picking
grapes when it is time to sow corn. You will have all that you want to eat, and
you will live in safety in your land.”

The Wickedness of Mankind
When the Lord saw how wicked everyone on the earth
was and how evil their thoughts were all the time, He was sorry that he had
ever made them and put them on the earth. He was so filled with regret that he
said, “I will wipe out these people I have created, and also the animals and
birds, because I am sorry that I made any of them.” But the Lord was pleased
with Noah.
